Fire on White Schoolhouse Road

On October 15, 2008 at 7:01 PM the Chestertown Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on White Schoolhouse Road. Units were enroute to Bolton Landing for a standby and re-routed to the scene. Upon arrival of Chief Richard Swan he reported a working structure fire with heavy fire venting from the second story and requested mutual aid. Firefighters were able to make an aggressive interior attack on the fire and were able to knock the fire down in approximately 10 minutes. Fire damage was limited to the floor of origin with water and smoke damage on the first floor. The house is salvageable. Mutual aid was received from the Pottersville and Horicon Fire Departments as well as the North Warren Emergency Squad.
